The distributed / remote scanning module developed by ImageScan utilizes our own proprietary scanning and indexing software to achieve industry leading accuracy in terms of document conversion and quality control. Our systems and processes have been commercially operational for over 15 years. Document Scanning is the process of taking new incoming paper documents, such as financial documents, correspondence, loan documents, patient insurance information, medical records, laboratory reports,, etc., and creating electronic digital images through scanning. Prior to scanning, documents must be properly prepped (i.e. staples removed, edges unbent, stick-it-notes removed, etc.). Front and back sides are automatically scanned.
After scanning, an indexing process takes place to properly categorize and file each digitized document image for easier search and retrieval. After indexing, documents are ready for further processing. Automated processes like OCR, directory sweeps and batch commits can be run ad hoc or scheduled to run as needed. These scanned/indexed/archived documents can be viewed, printed and faxed within the customer ECM or EMR application.
